Robert McGrath

ROBERT MCGRATH

A graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland's Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering program where he won the BMT Fleet Technology Senior Design Prize. In 2006 Bob co-founded McGrath-Knapp Naval Architects Ltd out of St. John's, Newfoundland. His relationship with the water has been steadfast, starting with competitive sailing in his youth and continuing up to this day where he currently holds CYA’s (Canadian Yachting Association) highest level sailing instructor certification. This interest in performance sailing coupled with his affinity for everything maritime led him to pursue his current career in Naval Architecture. Previously, he has held positions in the southern US working as a sales representative for area small boat distributors and has also had the opportunity to work in the marine industry with naval architecture company Marine Services International of St. John's, and with the classification society ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) in Houston, Texas.
